This is a public repository of various papers, reports and data
from the projects that I'm involved with, including diagram understanding,
natural language learning, object stores (implemented in Dylan), and more.

All of the papers here are copyright by the author or in some cases by
organizations such as the IEEE (in the case of the ICDAR '95 paper).
Permission to reprint any more than a brief excerpt requires contacting
me. Of course the great majority of this work is supported be Federal
research grants (NSF and DOE) and must be publicly available.

The ICDAR '95 paper is presented in two Postscript versions (short with
no fonts included and long with all fonts include).  The paper was done
in Word 5.1a on the Mac, but when printed from Unix to an HP, the nofont 
version formats slightly better than the all-fonts version.  It is also
presented in two encodings, one ascii and the other Z-compressed and
uuencoded.  (The short compressed, uuencoded one is the version deposited
at cmp-lg at Los Alamos.)

The paper for DEXA-95 (London, 9/95) is on knowledge-based authoring tools
for text and is in Postscript, no fonts.
