The correct top-level URL page for SIGSAM should be:
    ftp://ftp.ccs.neu.edu/pub/sigsam/README.html

Please point your WEB viewer at the URL above.
If someone from ACM is reading this, please re-direct your WEB server
to point to the URL above and NOT to this page.

For those who are interested in details, it would have been more logical
for the SIGSAM web page to be located someplace like
  http : //www.ccs.neu.edu /sigsam/
However, for what seemed to me at the time to be political reasons, this
was not allowed by the systems administration at the College of Computer
Science at Northeastern University.  (I believe the
official reason was that this was considered a security risk.)
The ftp URL was proposed by systems as a substitute.  For several years,
the ACM server successfully pointed to that URL.  However, ACM appears
to have installed a new server, after which time, the ACM stoped pointing
to the URL above.  I have so far been unsuccessful in getting
the ACM web server to redirect to the ftp page at the top.
